The prestigious magazine highlighted the Mithila Thali as a culinary masterpiece, appreciating its use of local ingredients, traditional flavors, and modern presentation. This recognition further emphasizes the growing international popularity of Nepali cuisine. Chef Santosh Shah, known for introducing Nepali flavors to the world, has been serving Mithila Thali to more than 500 customers daily. The dish, which is deeply rooted in the culture and culinary traditions of the Mithila region, has become a signature offering at his restaurants.
Chef Shah, who hails from Janakpur in the southern plains of Nepal, expressed his pride in seeing his birthplace, its traditions, and its cuisine being celebrated on such a prestigious global platform. He is also expanding his reach by introducing Mithila Fish Dishes, a specialty of Janakpur through his Janakpur Fish House. In the coming months, Chef Santosh plans to expand his reach even further, with plans to open a new branch in Birgunj.
