RASUWA, The Langtang Trail Run 2026 concluded successfully in the heart of the Langtang Valley, bringing together more than 100 athletes to compete in a challenging 32-kilometer mountain race from Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 meters) to Syabrubesi (1,550 meters).
Organized by the Rasuwa Nuwakot Tourism Society, the event attracted 106 participants, including 88 men and 18 women, to the scenic Himalayan region of Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, located approximately 120 kilometers north of Kathmandu.
The event was officially inaugurated in the presence of Bagmati Province Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya, Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Prabhat Tamang, Minister for Culture and Tourism Suresh Shrestha, and Tourism Secretary Dipendra Subedi. Following the inauguration, the participants were flagged off for the race.

The race was held along one of Nepal's most renowned mountain destinations. Langtang, which was devastated by the 2015 earthquake and suffered significant loss of life and infrastructure, has since undergone a remarkable recovery. Today, the region stands as a symbol of resilience and renewal, welcoming visitors from around the world.
Widely regarded as Nepal's third most popular trekking destination after the Everest and Annapurna regions, the Langtang Trek draws hundreds of trekkers and adventure enthusiasts each year. Its spectacular mountain scenery, rich Tamang culture, pristine forests, glaciers, and easy accessibility from Kathmandu make it a favorite among both domestic and international visitors.

In the men's category, Milan Kulung claimed the championship title, completing the course in 2 hours, 16 minutes and 43 seconds. Dhir Bahadur Budha finished second in 2 hours, 18 minutes and 47 seconds, while Bishal Rai secured third place with a time of 2 hours, 20 minutes and 2 seconds. Gopal Tamang and Chandra Rawat finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

In the women's category, Anjuli Gurung emerged victorious, crossing the finish line in 4 hours, 45 minutes and 3 seconds. Surakshya Tamang finished second with a time of 4 hours, 59 minutes and 35 seconds, while Austrian runner Anna Lena Furtner placed third in 5 hours, 9 minutes and 14 seconds. Gita Maharjan and Sonu Paudel completed the top five.
Organizers said the successful event not only celebrated athletic excellence but also highlighted Langtang's growing reputation as a destination for trail running, trekking, and mountain tourism. They expressed confidence that the annual race will continue to strengthen the region's international profile while contributing to local livelihoods and tourism development.

The race was organized by the Rasuwa–Nuwakot Tourism Society with support from provincial and tourism-related organizations. According to the organizers, the initiative aims to promote Langtang as a leading destination for trekking, trail running, and marathon tourism at both national and international levels.
