Kathmandu । The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has started using a new approach to promote tourism in Nepal. Instead of relying only on traditional methods, the board is now focusing more on digital technology, social media and content creators.
Recently, the board invited popular content creators from different countries to visit Nepal. In collaboration with TikTok, creators from France, Portugal, Tunisia, South Korea, the UAE, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were brought to Nepal.
During their visit, they travelled to Pokhara, Chitwan and Bardiya. They will create videos, photos and other content about these places and share them on social media. Through this, they will help promote Nepal as a tourist destination to people around the world.
According to NTB Senior Manager Surya Thapaliya, this initiative will help introduce Nepal's tourist destinations to international audiences.
The board has also introduced a new programme to involve more than 200 Nepali content creators in tourism promotion. Under this programme, they will visit different tourist destinations across Nepal.
These creators work in different fields, including food, fashion, travel, photography, videography, art, culture and lifestyle. Through their content, the board wants to showcase Nepal's natural beauty, cultural diversity and unique lifestyle to international audiences.

In addition, the Nepal Tourism Board has launched a digital campaign called 'Visit Nepal' in collaboration with a popular global social media platform.
The campaign started on Friday. Its main goal is to introduce Nepal's natural beauty, culture, heritage and tourist destinations to people around the world.
As part of this campaign, a special hashtag page will be created on TikTok. The board will also work with Nepali celebrities and local content creators. Live video broadcasts from different tourist destinations will also be organised.
The campaign will continue until the end of 2026.
Earlier, the board had also organised training programmes to teach people how to use TikTok and other social media platforms for tourism promotion.
At a time when Nepal has been criticised for not adopting new methods to promote tourism, the board is now focusing on digital platforms, popular content creators and celebrities who have a strong influence worldwide.
The government believes that this new approach will help make Nepal's tourist destinations more popular internationally. It is also expected to encourage more Nepalis to travel and explore different parts of their own country.
