Kathmandu, The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Executive Committee held its 395th meeting on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. The meeting marked an important moment for the organization as it welcomed its new Chairperson and several newly appointed members from key government agencies.

The Committee welcomed Mr. Mukunda Prasad Niraula, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, as the new Chairperson. His leadership comes at a time when Nepal’s tourism industry is working to grow and move forward. The following new members also joined the Committee:

During the meeting, the new Chairperson and members received a detailed briefing on NTB’s structure, responsibilities, and current situation. The orientation helped them understand NTB’s main goals and its role in promoting tourism, developing the sector, and supporting policy work. NTB’s CEO also presented the quarterly progress report. The report included updates on marketing efforts, tourism promotion, ongoing programs, operational improvements, and partnerships with government and private-sector organizations.

The meeting was attended by the Vice Chair and executive members from the private sector as well. Their involvement reflects NTB’s long-standing public–private partnership approach, which remains important for tourism development in Nepal. As the tourism sector continues to grow and change, the addition of experienced leaders to the Executive Committee shows NTB’s commitment to strengthening Nepal’s tourism brand, improving visitor experiences, and supporting sustainable tourism development.
